Now, locate where you want your trigger, I like to pin mine 3/8" ahead of the sear bar and as high as I can pin it.

I usually cut this with a very narrow chisel, taking my time so as not to break it. Go as deep as it takes to get the trigger to proper depth.

Mark this position to the underside of the stock.

Here's where mine came through, and it works fine.

Here you can see I've drawn where the trigger is in relation to the lock mortise. Drill your pin through now, hitting the upper most corner.
