On to the lock panels. Draw a line where you want the lock panels.

Rasp away the wood to bring out the shape of the lock panel.

Lay a piece of  paper over the lock panel and draw along it with the side of the pencil lead to make a copy of the lock shape on paper. Cut out this paper and use it for a pattern for the other side.

Shape the off side lock panel with a rasp.
